The relocation committee has been meeting to discuss our proposed relocation. Below are a few points from the meetings:
·The committee is still pressing forward to buy the site at Burton road. The proposal has been put to the West Lindsey council. Our application looks good but the decision will come down to the members of the panel on the day.
·As with any planning proposal local groups and people will be able to take a look at the plan and air their views.
·The committee is also looking at sites that may come under “sequential testing” that is there must not be any available land that we could use between our current location and the new location. We are carefully looking at a site along Wragby road. Of course if a site in this category does look feasible in will be used as a fall back option from the Burton road site.
·Other sites we are looking at are: Longleighs Road – the land is designated for burial land. The north side under the by-pass may be under the Strat 13. We are still waiting for news on this site.
·Funding, the NSF has confirmed that we need to have spent the money they donate by the end of March. The RFU are trying to get them to change their deadlines. If all goes to plan we should be able to meet the deadline.
·The business plan is being put together at present for the club. The committee have contacted the Charities Commissions to get an official structure to register the company as charitable. The mini and junior section are putting a report together on costs incurred during the year and the committee will contact other local clubs to ask for their annual costs of running their clubs.
·Members of the committee are to get information of other uses for the facilities i.e. Business conferences/rooms, child care, other sports – clubs
·The committee was presented with a new report on the new building costs. The new estimate for the build is £2,5000,000.The committee is to look into possible planning gain supplement. The committee are putting together a two stage tender to get estimated costs for building companies. This involves looking into which parts of the facilities can be put into a second phase i.e. built/added at a later date.
·Information about the Relocation was presented at the Promotional Day on the 25 August in Lincoln.
·Finally future activities of the committee are. Looking for further grants/funding. Put together the business plan. Check the viability of land further down Wragby Road owned by the University. Start working on a specific design for the facilities.
